The Performance Blueprint

The Performance Blueprint is not just a weekly baseball lesson. It is a daily two-hour, academy-style program designed to provide complete player development. Each session combines strength, agility, and movement training with extended opportunities for hitting, throwing, and fielding skills development.

Athletes in this program train in an immersive, high-repetition environment modeled after the methods used in college and professional systems. This approach goes far beyond short, isolated lessons, giving players the structure, consistency, and quality coaching they need to make real progress on the field.

Winter Strength Camp

Age and baseball specific weight training focused on building strength and explosiveness that transfers directly to the field.

This winter, take your game to the next level with our Elite Baseball Lifting Program, designed specifically for youth and high school players.

Running November through January, this program builds linear strength, explosive power, and biomechanical efficiency that directly transfers to performance on the field. Athletes will train through advanced lifting progressions, plyometrics, and movement-based drills that sharpen mechanics while reducing injury risk.

Every session is led by former MLB coach Tim LaMonte and Team USA coach Matt Miller, ensuring each player receives world-class instruction in a structured, high-performance environment. Prepare your body for the demands of the season—and separate yourself from the competition.

FAQ'S

How Does Training Work At The Performance Blueprint Academy?

1What will my athlete be doing each hour?
At The Performance Blueprint, we don’t follow a rigid “lesson schedule.” Instead, we operate in flexible two-hour training blocks where athletes rotate through the programming that best fits their age, needs, and goals on that day.
Depending on the group that shows up, an athlete may spend time on:

Skill Acquisition Hitting
Throwing & arm care
Defensive fielding work
Speed & explosive training
Strength & conditioning

Sometimes we’ll run multiple stations at once, other times the group will work together before splitting off. The exact flow depends on who is in the building and what they need most that night.
2Why not just stick with a set schedule?
Because athlete development isn’t one-size-fits-all.
A rigid schedule forces everyone into the same drills whether they need them or not. Our adaptive system ensures:

Individualization: A 7-year-old and an 18-year-old won’t necessarily benefit from the same drills and environments. We can better adjust to meet them where they are.

Efficiency: Athletes get what they need that day, instead of wasting time in a “pre-set” hour that might not apply to them or could be better served in other areas with the group that shows up at that time.

Long-Term Results: By training across multiple domains (hitting, throwing, speed, strength) in an integrated way, athletes develop into more complete players instead of being “siloed” by skill.

Resilience & Growth: Learning to adapt to varied training environments better prepares athletes for the unpredictability of games and competition.
3What if my athlete can only stay for one hour?
That’s okay — they will still benefit from whatever training is scheduled during that hour. However, the full two-hour block provides the most complete training experience, since athletes will rotate through more areas of development.

How Do You Teach Hitting At The Performance Blueprint Academy?

1Why don't you teach players the "right" way to swing?
Because there isn’t just one “right” swing. Every athlete has a different body, strength level, mobility, and learning style. Instead of forcing one model, we use training environments that help athletes discover the movement solutions that work best for them — while still producing the desired results (hard & consistent contact, true ball flight, and power).
2What does that look like in practice?
We set up training tasks and environments that challenge hitters to adapt and solve problems. For example:

- Hitting a high-spin foam ball at high velocity with a shorter bat and the task of producing low backspin line drives.

- Using different bat weights or ball types to force timing and barrel awareness.

- Creating field constraints (smaller zones, directional targets) that encourage better adjustability.

The environment, not the coach’s words, teaches the athlete how to organize their body to succeed.
3Isn't that confusing for young players?
Actually, it’s the opposite. When athletes solve movement problems themselves, their learning “sticks” far deeper than if they were simply told what to do. Instead of memorizing mechanics, they learn to adapt in real time — just like they’ll need to in an actual game.
4How is this different from traditional hitting lessons?
Traditional: Focus on repeating a model swing with verbal cues and lots of technical correction.

Our Approach: Focus on adaptability, decision-making, and variable training environments.

This produces hitters who can adjust to different pitchers, speeds, and situations — not just look good in a batting cage.
5Does this really work at higher levels?
Yes. This constraints-led approach is used by progressive player development systems in college baseball, professional organizations, and skill acquisition research worldwide. It’s proven to build resilient hitters who can succeed against the unpredictable challenges of real games.

How Do You Teach Pitching At The Performance Blueprint Academy?

1Do you teach one specific pitching motion?
No. We don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” delivery. Every pitcher has unique body types, mobility, and strengths. Instead of forcing everyone into the same mold, we help pitchers build efficient movement patterns that allow them to throw harder, with better command, and stay healthier over time.
2What does a pitching session look like?
Training combines constraint-driven drills and individual assessments.

A typical session may include:

Weighted balls & plyo drills to improve arm speed, rhythm, and intent.

Constraint drills such as different mound slopes, arm path constraints & balance challenges to improve efficiency and adaptability.

Arm care routines including band work, recovery methods & shoulder/scap stability to protect and strengthen the arm.

Movement patterning drills to sync lower and upper body so pitchers can maximize velocity while reducing stress on the arm.

The goal is for pitchers learn to self-organize into efficient movements that fit their body.
3Isn't weighted-ball training unsafe?
When done improperly, yes.

We followTexas Baseball Ranch protocols and 108 Performance principles, which emphasize:

- Thorough warm-up and mobility work.

- Gradual progression of load and intensity.

- Recovery and arm care routines built into every session.

This ensures velocity gains happen safely and sustainably.
4How is this different from traditional pitching lessons?
Traditional: Focuses on “mechanical checkpoints” (balance point, arm angle, stride length). Lots of verbal cues and forced positions.

Our Approach: Focuses on movement patterns, efficiency, and intent — using environments, constraints, and feedback to let the body find its best delivery.

This produces pitchers who can:
- Throw harder with less stress
- Command multiple pitches
- Adapt to different game situations
- Stay healthier and more resilient over long seasons
5Does this really work at higher levels?
Yes. The methods we use are applied by:

Professional organizations (MLB player development systems)

Elite college programs

Hundreds of successful pitchers developed at the Texas Baseball Ranch and 108 Performance and other similar programs.

Our athletes train in the same style as top-level pitchers who are breaking velocity plateaus and extending careers.
